Oil’s Well That Ends Well finished shooting today in 1957. This was one of only two of the 190 shorts The Three Stooges made for Columbia that had only The Three Stooges in the cast. The other was Self Made Maids where The Boys played multiple parts.

The short’s title is an obvious reference to Shakespeare, which the Stooges used often. Fitting, since Moe was a thoroughly trained and accomplished Shakespearean actor. But that’s a story for another day.
